SAA collaborates with Global 2000 in an ongoing programme of policy-related studies and briefing papers, prepared for the benefit of President Carter, Dr. Borlaug, SG 2000 senior staff, and agricultural policy decision makers from collaborating countries. In 1995, the Carter Center established the Agribusiness Forum initiative in collaboration with a handful of the major transnational agribusiness companies, to explore the ways and means to increase foreign agribusiness investment in SG 2000 project countries. In addition to collaborative grass roots activities in SG 2000 project countries, aimed primarily at strengthening smallholder input delivery systems, the Agribusiness Forum also facilitates investment policy dialogues between government decision makers, local entrepreneurs, and senior management of these large agribusiness.
